Chris McKernan

Operations & Expo Director

As Operations and Expo Director, Chris' duties are varied. He is a strategic planner working with Paul on the overall production of the event. Chris can best be described as the fire fighter - working on last minute issues before they become problems. Chris will also use his connections to secure sweet prizes for our non-cash categories and our volunteer raffle. Chris also works directly with vendors in our Expo Area.

Robert gates

Volunteer Coordinator

Bob is excited to be involved in GB Beverly, despite his limited bike racing experience. His first and last bike race was when a few college friends invited him along to a mountain bike race at the Catamount Center in Vermont in the 1990s. But the No. 1 skill for the volunteer coordinator – “herding cats” – is an area where he is well versed. He co-created and ran the Beverly Cross Country Running Series for six seasons, getting hundreds of kids involved in running and raising thousands of dollars for his neighborhood elementary school’s PTO. Bob was also the co-founder and co-coordinator for the Beverly Ski Club at Beverly Middle School. Bob is a racer at-heart. He was a competitive ski racer growing up in New Hampshire and is now pumped to help bring a world-class sporting event to Beverly, his adopted hometown for the past 17 years.
